In this Video, I will show you What is the difference between ZIP and RAR. The ZIP archive file format is more accessible than RAR, but RAR is generally better at data compression than the default support for ZIP is. ZIP is common because most operating systems have built-in support for it; many other data compression programs support ZIP as well. RAR files are common, too, but creating them requires WinRAR, which is commercial software. Both ZIP and RAR have the potential to be very secure.
RAR Archives: In many cases, creating RAR formats compress/decompress a denser when compared with the ZIP format. Other advantages of the RAR is a multivolume support. If you had to create a multi-volume archive, then use the RAR is the choice. RAR format also has some other important things that are not encountered in ZIP format. For example, the ability to reconstruct RAR archives broken, protection/key records, and protect vital records of modifications not on purpose.
RAR format also can overcome file size that can be said to be infinite (up to 8,589,934,591 GB). While the maximum size of the ZIP file is only 2 GB. A file system that supports files larger than 4 GB is NTFS or more recent than that.
ZIP Archives: ZIP format is the most popular. For example, most of the archives on the internet is a ZIP format. If you will send a RAR archive to a person, that person may not have WinRAR to extract the RAR archive, it could have made you choose the format of ZIP on the other side. You can send a file that type of self -extracting (can extract itself). The self-extracting archive has a slightly larger size, but it can extract itself without the help of any program. Another advantage is the speed of the ZIP, ZIP archive creation process faster than RAR archives.
